Mykonos (Visitors & the beach)

Tuesday 24th May – Mykonos (Visitors & the beach) 37:27.872N 25:19.524E
This morning I was able to put most of the washing away, it having dried over night.
Late morning, we received a surprise visit from Alberto and his wife, and their dog Marina, who we knew in Messolonghi; they had just arrived on the ferry from neighbouring Siros – their boat is in the marina at Siros but it is very windy there too so they decided to take a day trip to Mykonos rather than try to sail here. Apparently there is another boat from Messolonghi stuck in Siros too.
After saying hello they went off to explore Mykonos Town for the day whilst we did a few jobs aboard. Mid afternoon the wind eased a little and we went off to the beach with our beach mats and towels to sunbathe. When we arrived we found that our neighbours from the marina were already installed in the taverna there. Incredibly there was a lull in the wind for about an hour, and it was really nice on the beach, after which some cloud came over and the wind built again, so we headed back as we were starting to get sand blasted.
Our visitors from Siros came back to visit whilst they awaited their evening ferry (it docks stern-to on the outside of the sea-wall across the way from us) and we waved them off before making pizza for dinner.
This evening, you might guess, the wind is howling through the rigging once again.
