Wednesday 7th May – Gibraltar

Today I had a fairly quiet day, finding space in the stern cabin, making up a bed and deciding what to have for dinner.

Richard had a very busy day creating a passarelle (gang plank) for Pyxis, with Peter’s assistance, using a folding ladder he bought yesterday and some wood he had in the large lazarette.

This was because the P’s arrived this evening at 7pm at Gibraltar airport.  We cycled the short distance to the airport to meet them; actually Richard waited at the marina, took a picture of the plane landing, and then cycled around and was still there well before their luggage had been unloaded.  Arrivals is on the other side of the runway and so we all walked across the runway back to the marina.

After dinner, and a long chat to catch up on the gossip from home with the P’s, Cath and Gavin from Blue Elephant popped round (they are moored right next to us) for a drink to meet the P’s.  It was great to finally sit down and talk to them as both boats have been so busy since we arrived, this is the first chance we have had to have a sit down and chat.

The P’s were exhausted after a rough passage down the M1 to Luton and so have now retired to bed.  Luckily for them they didn’t arrive at lunchtime given the strong winds we have had gusting through today.
