Wednesday 6th May – Monastir, Tunisia

This morning we were up early as the P's were due to fly in at 9.10am.  Inevitably they had brought some bad weather with them – it was cloudy and very windy in the marina.  Just before 9am we saw their plane fly over the marina so we headed off to find a taxi for the short run to the airport to pick them up.

Just as we started walking towards town the heavens opened but fortunately at that moment an empty taxi came past and we were soon en-route to the airport.  The taxi driver was very friendly and spoke good English having spent some time in the UK.  After a short wait at the airport the P's emerged and we were soon back at the marina.

During the day the weather gradually improved; the wind eased and the sky brightened up, and by late afternoon it was hot and sunny again.

We popped to the market in town whilst the P's had a short sleep – they had been up at 2.30am to get to the airport for the flight.  The market here is much smaller than Bizerte but the meat, fish, fruit and veg are all good – we will be going to visit again.

After a late lunch, we took the P's for a short walk around the marina.  This evening we have stayed aboard and enjoyed the meat (lamb) and fish (dorada) from the market followed by an early night.
