Sunday 10th February – Ilha da Culatra

A lazy Sunday morning with a pot of coffee and book, and listening to the local Algarve radio station, Kiss FM 95.8, which has been playing some great music.

The fair weather continues but the strong easterly winds and swell out in the bay continue, keeping us here a bit longer.

A few boats have joined us on the anchorage today – including one that went into Olhão the day after we arrived and another that had set off for Vilamoura yesterday morning but presumably changed their mind. So tonight there is quite a few of us here.

Once again we ran the water-maker whilst recharging the batteries, and pleased to report that it has delivered another 45 litres into the tank J  Yes, I know I said that yesterday but we’re like kids with a new toy at the moment and the water tastes better than the stuff in the tank.  When asked ‘what would you like to drink’ we are just as likely to say ‘water’ as anything else just now (the novelty will wear off).

I managed to get the fishing rod out again this afternoon but unfortunately missed a bite, so tonight I am making some pasties for us.
