Our position is 59:58.875N 24:26.394E

Strong winds were forecast for our passage to Lahteela, but at least they were going to be from behind so we set off running with just the headsail under a blue sky. The wind got up as the day went on and approaching the Southern headland the seas were quite rough and rolly but once round and heading North it calmed down and we were able to beam reach at 7 knots.

It was very peaceful in the little harbour at Lahteela. A Swede from an adjoining boat helped us with our warps but immediately wanted to get into a conversation about Brexit. I guess he was perhaps hoping Sweden would also instigate a similar vote. We escaped and went for a walk around the wooded area behind the harbour. On our return a single-hander with a Dragon had stopped for a break on his way to the classic boat regatta at Hanko. We didn’t envy him his slog to windward in an open boat in the strong conditions but it was interesting to discuss his boat – better than politics!
