Our position is 38:24.28N
09:47.58W
4th October.
We left Cascais at first light with little wind but
still a big sea running. Made good progress motorsailing with main and genoa and
the engine at low revs. The wind freshened a bit during the morning so we are
now sailig at about 5 knts. The sea state is slowing us down and making life
aboard rather difficult. However all the crew are in good shape and the sun is
warm with only a few clouds.
We have seen plenty of ships but none have troubled
us. Peter and Glen saw a small pod of dolphins which stayed around for a
while, I was in my cabin at the time so missed them.
The next job is getting lunch and then it is my
watch.

PS A shout of Whale! Whale! from Glen just as
I was about to send this had me shooting up into the cockpit, but just too late
to see it. Glen estimates it was as long as the boat and only 30 or so meters
away.
