Wednesday morning was warm and sunny. We had checked the tide times and they were not very helpful. We could only hit slack water at the bridge by waiting until the afternoon. However the cheerful harbour master who came alongside to collect our dues said there was no problem with the bridge but we should wait for a couple of hours of tidal rise so it would be a bit deeper.

The bridge was narrow and there was a couple of knots with us but no problem. It was a very pleasant trip along the Annisquam river. Quite like parts of the ICW but on a much smaller scale.

Once clear of the Northern end we were able to sail round the rocky coat to Rockport, a crowded little harbour. We had made a reservation and the Harbourmaster showed us to our allotted spot which a mooring ball and an attached pick up line leading aft to two submerged sternlines. It seemed to work well and after a cup of tea we wet ashore to explore. After a good walk round this popular little tourist town which has a reputation for its many artists we found a nice place to have our evening meal on a deck looking out over the harbour. It seemed the right place to try the lobster, which is plentiful and therefore good value this season.
