Temperature: 32.5C We sailed with main and headsail the final miles into Bridgetown
in bright sunshine. The mooring facilities at Bridgetown were non existent for
smaller yachts and we managed to tether Moorglade with a variety of warps and
fenders to a big ship "buffer" but were continually being forced onto this by
the incoming swell.
Ted went to the Immigration Office and spent over an hour and a half
filling in forms in triplicate, and in quadruplicate in one case (!). All this
time Kay was waiting at the entrance to the docks being prevented by a jobsworth
- unfortunately she also had the tickets we needed for immigration! Eventually
all was well, although we had to sever a warp which was trapped behind the
buffer on departure.
We are now at anchor in Carlisle Bay closely adjacent to Bridgetown,
and enjoyed a meal ashore with Kay in the evening - interesting we had
torrential rain for at least hour and a half whilst in the restaurant and had to
bail out the dinghy before departure.
At this stage John, Glen and Peter are preparing for their flight home this
evening to allow Ted and Kay to continue their cruising.
