Bob's plan for Friday was to end the day in
Lawrence Cove, coincidentally where Another Adventure were visiting friends, but
as it is only a very short hop from Indian Creek the objective for the day was
to try out Liberty's new cruising chute. I promoted Moorglade to Bells Creek and
left her at anchor there while joining Liberty for a sail in the bay to try out
the new sail. It was a very enjoyable trip, for once I had no responsibility and
the new sail set well. We returned to Moorglade and sailed together to Lawrence
Cove where once again Bob saved me the trouble of anchoring as I rafted
alongside. Putting the hook down is little trouble, but cleaning off the very
gloopy mud when it comes up in the morning is a real chore if, like me, you do
not have a washdown pump.
Another Adventure was still at their friends dock
and in the morning we went over to say goodbye as they were heading up the
Potomac to Washington DC and was planning to see DC by car when Kay rejoins the
cruise.
