Saturday 27th February
We anchored in a narrow channel between Isla Chapera and Isla Mogo Mogo where
the Survivor TV series was filmed. Camomile were on Mogo Mogo and when I say on
the island, they were literally on the island as they put legs under their hull
so that when the tide went out they remained on the beach so they could clean
the hull, very clever! Everyone else has spent hours under the water with their
dive gear on cleaning theirs.
Amy, Jack and myself dinghy-ed over to Mogo Mogo to have a mooch around and see
if there were any campsites still visible from when Survivor was filmed in
2003. We left Paul resting on the boat as he had woken up with the stomach bug
that is still making it's way around all the boats. We found no campsites but
we did find the beach covered in pretty pink shells - lovely! After a short
walk through the bushes we reached a beautiful lagoon on the other side of the
island. It was very peaceful and relaxing, we felt a world away from Panama!
Camomile came off their legs during high tide and motored the short distance
over to Chapera to join the rest of us ready to celebrate Mark's birthday with
a BBQ on the beach. By this time Chsalonina, Lucy Alice, Raylah and Briet had
all anchored in the bay. Paul decided he was up for the party so at 5 o'clock
the BBQ's were set up and cans of beer opened. A great night was had by all -
particularly Mark who lost the use of his legs. Simon from Raylah kindly
propped him up all night and allowed him to lean on his back.
Pictures to follow.
