We were put back in the water at 2 pm on Monday so Jackamy is now fully repaired and has a new shiny bottom as whilst she was out of the water we had her anti-fouled. We anchored for the eveing just outside Jolly Harbour and on Tuesday we motored around to Nelson’s Dockyard taking a very wide berth of all the reefs on the way!!!!

Nelson’s Dockyard is probably the prettiest piece of living history in the Caribbean today. It was once the base for Admiral Horatio Nelson’s fleet but today the harbor is managed by Nelson’s Dockyard National Park, which is part of the National Park Authority. We will spend Christmas here along with the majority of the other BWR yachts. Most of the yachts are moored next to each other and are decorated in Christmas lights so we’re all looking very pretty and festive.

Last night after a few rum punch’s on Blue Magic we went carol singing with them and Roundabout around the dockyard! Today I’m going to St John’s with Glenda and Sue to do some Christmas shopping and to soak up the Christmas atmosphere. It’s all very laid back though here, there’s none of the frantic rush we get at home. The restaurants and bars have only just put up their trees and decorations!

We are quite a large group now as lots of family and friends have come out for Christmas and New Year and tonight 62 of us are getting together for a Christmas Eve meal. Then tomorrow we have champagne around the Capstains followed by a BBQ on the beach…….not bad!!!!!

We wish you all a very merry Christmas!
