Been in the Squall Zone since last Sunday and finally exited today with a lovely sunny day with ample wind to boost us towards our last days, but not too much to cause any new dramas. All tins were unpapered in Las Palmas so as not to encourage Cockroaches. This lead to some confusion early this week when 'B. Beans' was assumed to be Barlotti Beans, turned out they were Baked Beans and had them for breakfast this morning with our Eggy Bread. great start to a great day.
Mileage now down to less than 200, so planning our arrival sometime tomorrow, provided we have plain sailing tonight.
All crew are in good spirits and healthy but all in need of a freshen up to our wardrobes. will be super to tread on solid ground again, and hopefully not fall over. All showers are now restricted water useage and Paul is the most frugal with a claimed 'few cup fulls'
whilst tapping this update and 191 miles to go at 6:30 in the evening when an unexpected wind change threw the boom across viciously and it snapped in half. The broken half is securely fastened down, all crew are safe but alas any mainsail activity has now ceased. Looks like we will be motoring in, unless we get conditions to use the trade wind sail again. ETA Sunday morning
