Now Thursday so final countdown to departure, yesterday Colin and Ian dismantled the anchor motor and reassembled and it worked to our great relief. Hire car was delivered at midday and Michel and I started our mega shopping expedition with first run of drinks which was a mixture of water, wine, beer and milk if only we could turn water into wine!

Last night was the big fancy dress party and we painted the town red dressed as four ninja turtles much to the amazement of the locals, especially when we went for a a beer after the party at a local bar and sat down and asked for four beers in our best spanish I think we were the first ninja they had had in their bar.

Today we had a later start and we have had a visit from water maker company to make sure all is working well with our machine, we found the VHF had stopped working but was a simple fuse, probably due to messing around with the fuse board fixing the water pump issue. Colin and Ian have taken the car for a meat and dairy shop and on Saturday we will do the final shop of fruit, veg and salad we certainly won't starve on our way over no matter how long we are at sea.

Skipper's briefing is on Saturday at midday so tomorrow we will be doing sea trials with man over board training currently just working through the details of who we should choose!

Out allocated time across the start line is 1pm on Sunday so looking forward to no getting going
