Set anchor in reasonably protected bay adjoining Capo S. Giovanni. There was no rode reading on the Lewmar anchor
instrument display. Contacted John Eustace to check on options, given John had changed out the anchor windlass motor and gypsy. Noted the chain sensor adrift in the chain locker below the anchor winch. Removed gypsy to confirm it had a magnet installed for
rode measurement. John advised there was a new sensor onboard, which I will try and fit tomorrow whilst we are underway. Matt and I took the dinghy ashore to the Calabrian town of Bova Marina. There is no marina, just a pebble beach where we hauled out the
dinghy. Noted the street names are in Italian and Greek. A local recommended the Mediterranean restaurant. We walked there and noted a TV. Asked for the French open and saw most of the 5th set. Great match won by Alcaraz against Sinner. Returned to Westralia
at 9:30pm. The rode sensor that has come out its position in the gypsy base plate, hence not getting rode measurement Matt and I went ashore and muscled the dinghy ashore. Went to a local restaurant in Bova Marina (name of local town,
there is no marina). Managed to watch most the 5th set of the French open. Incredible match between two young superstars, Alcaraz and Sinner.
