Anchored at Othoni, just outside bay close to restaurants. Big day, 14.5 hour run in strong winds from the north, double reefed main and jib, covering 123NM. All
went well other than the genoa tied down on the foredeck shifting in the winds and swell breaking over the bow. Had to stop and resecure. Will be very happy to get this sorted out in Corfu. Pretty exhausted, we took the dinghy into the bay seawall, winds still
+20Knts. We had an Aperol Spritz and dinner at Antoni restaurant, catching up with the Greek lady owner, who I had met 2 or 3 times over previous years. She remembered me and we recalled her time in the USA. Hubby works on the island as well, mother in law
runs the adjoining supermarket. The service and food was very good. I had the slow cooked lamb, which soon attracted the island cats, which voraciously consumed the leftovers! Sun rising east from Capo Rizzuto Strong winds pretty well all the way to Othonoi saw us cover the 123NM in 14.5 hours. Would have made +7knts under sail, but given the distance of this leg we had the Volvo spinning at 2,000rpm. Averaged 8.5knts Antoni restaurant, Othonio
