Ran genset first thing to charge batteries, washing machine on, water maker on. Went for a swim. 11:15 weighed anchor and departed for Stromboli. Light winds, we made our way to Stromboli, which was quite active. We entered the exclusion zone to get closer to the action, where we promptly radioed by the Coast Guard ship to get out of the zone! Made our way around the island and laid anchor at Ficogrande. After a swim, drinks on board we headed into shore. Ficogrande is the neatest and best presented village I have seen to date in Sicily. All the houses and restaurants have been given a fresh coat of white paint prior to the tourist season, no graffiti and no rubbish lying around the streets. The locals should be commended. We had dinner at a coastal taverna, excellent service and food.
