We departed Spile beach around 10am, planning to take a 6 hour run upto Vlores. We were heading directly into a large swell and noted winds would increase to 25 to 35 knots  on the nose as we approached the entrance to Gjiri I Valaries.  We made a decision to turn back anchor at Dhermi Beach. We took the dinghy ashore for a late lunch and then explored the Dhermi Beach foreshore. All very new, neat and tidy. None of this existed when Zimi and sailed the Albanian coast in 2019. Lots of local tourists with doof doof music blasting out of all the beach side bars. Made our way back to the boat. Very strong offshore winds and an uncomfortable swell made for a bad night's sleep.
