Anchored in Bayona

We (H, Is and J) had a final run ashore this morning onto this gem of Islas Cies. We walked up the coast to the next beach which was deserted and all had a run around on the pristine sand. Returning to the dinghy Harry found a 20 cents piece in the sand, happy chap. Nice and hot by now we then had a cool refreshing swim and Harry duck dived down for his largest shell yet. (Yes Harry helped write this para too!)

Happily there was no muttering from the skipper today as a beautiful 10 knot northerly breeze blew us gently under genoa from our anchorage all the way into Bayona Harbour where we are now sitting comfortably anchored off the beach. En route we spotted the cruise ship "Independence of the Sea" leaving Vigo, they will be in Southampton in 36 hours. We heard them speaking on the radio; they have 3,826 guests and 1,358 crew; amazing!

Our neighbours from back in Roscanvel (10/8/14) arrived here this evening too. Harry and I rowed over to see them, well I rowed and Harry fished... we had a nice catch up and compared stories, we should overlap for a few days here which is great.

We always aimed to be in Bayona by the end of September so are happy with our progress. There seems plenty to do here in this historical port, so we'll spend a few days exploring before restocking and heading on south to Portugal.
