To Azores Day 11

38:33.609 N 029:12.767 W The wind dropped to 5 knots or so for an hour so I gave
up and started the engine, As there
was no wind the Cruising Chute furled with no problem. The cloud cover closed in at sunset, so
we didn’t really get a sunset or a moonrise. It’s cleared a bit now and the moon is
full. If we carry on motoring we’ll
get in at Still motoring. Still no wind. Flat sea. Sunshine, We didn’t have the dawn chorus of dolphins this morning, although Adam reports a delegation in the middle of the night, which made him junp as they jumped and splashed right next to the boat. No change. There is wind to the North and to the West but not any any where near us. ETA 10 pm local, maybe in time for last orders at Peter’s Cafe Sports Bar. We’ve been seeing Portuguese Man of Wars passing by close
to the ship with their peculiar “sails,” which makes sense as we’re approaching
the Yesterdays 24 hour run was 179 miles with a big chunk of it under power. 30 miles to go. We can see land. |
