We’re chugging along nicely 30 miles offshore. The wind such as it is has gone SE Force 2, about 50 miles earlier than advertised which is good for us as it improves our position relative to this weather system. Sunny morning with some cloud most of which has burned off by now. Very little wild life company apart from the occasional Albatross and no shipping as we are now 70 miles offshore. The wind is WSW a gentle Force 3 and it’s giving us nearly a knot more than if we were just under engine. We’re going slightly more West than originally planned and although we may catch a few hours of fairly strong contrary winds later, it will be worth it, as we’re gaining on Easter Island Our first 24 hour run was 183 miles with approx 1940 miles to go, depending of course of what course we are actually able to follow.
