Having got stuck two
extra nights in Port Pianottoli due to thunder storms and strong winds we
finally got on the move and did the short distance to Bonifacio. An amazing Port
to enter with a small gap between high cliffs.
The marina sits
below the old fortress town which is perched on the cliffs with views of
Sardinia on one side and the port/marina on the other side. The waterfront on
the marina has numerous restaurants and chic shops.
Lovely for a day or
two but pretty touristy.
Whilst the rain
storms have cleared strongish winds are forecast over the weekend - tail end of
a mistral blowing in from the gulf de Lion - so we are going to get around to
the East side of Corsica tomorrow in the hope that we don't get stuck in Port
again for a few day.
We met up today with
Mike & Sue from Lollipop (A 2008 Rally Portugual boat) who have been
cruising the Balearic Islands and Sardinia.
