Nice down wind sail with some v. light and some
good wind. We had the Spinnaker up all the way which allowed us to take a much
shorter route than those with Cruising chutes and faster than those goose
winging. We did 48.3 miles whereas Bali Hai a moody 49 did 58 miles and finished
after us. We are awaiting results but think we did OK, beating many of the
bigger boats across the line.
We again had Dolphins with us a number of times -
As Paul said they seem to be the pigeons of the sea.
Our friends in Storm Dragon (A Bavaria 35) - who we
passed in the Bay of Biscay came in to Bayonne and moored up next to us (what a
small world), moved on to Povoa with the Rally Portugual fleet and are again
with us. There are lots of other UK, plus Swiss, Swede, Dutch boats making there
way up and down the coast.
Talking of a small world the Skipper of rally
Portugual boat Bouzouki lives in Brockenhurst.
Chris Hartfield left for home and Martin Bown &
Tony Martin are due with us later today.
We have a bit of a leak in the stern rudder bearing
which we are keeping on eye on otherwise the boat is going well.
Looking forward to our trip to Taylors Port
vineyard tomorrow.
