I have been getting irritated with the way we seem to always run out of water quickly so decided on Wednesday to investigate. Firstly checked tank two and found that it was 2/3rds full when meter showed nearly empty. Opened air vent - all ok - disconnected feeder pipe connecting the two tanks - that was good water flowing OK.

Looked at tank one, opened air vent bolt - a little air went in but OK and again 2/3rds full. Pulled out water gauge. Guess what, the probe/float only reaches down half way to the bottom of the tank so when it shows empty it is still nearly 2/3rds full.

Off I went and bought a new v. expensive 12/24volt gauge - could I get it to work, no.

Today found a guy who was a marine engineer with volt meter etc. - For whatever reason my water meter seems to be emitting 9 volts, that puzzled him. He then tried the new meter to see if the resistance was varying when we put it into the water tank - Nada. Seems it might be bust.

I give up!!!! - for today anyway. Will have to take more advice from the Moody web site.

We decided to get the Bikes out today and have a ride around San Antonio - Bang Alison's 'big end went'. Alison's bike was purchaed in Almerimar last year and clearly not the same quality as mine as it has rusted quite badly over winter - We were planning a burial at sea but thought maybe a local Bicycle shop might help. Amazingly it didn't actually take long to find one and after a 7 Euro repair Alison is up and running and the bike has been saved a watery grave. A shame that repairs to the boat are not as cheap!
