A very hot , bright and sunny day with
significantly smoother seas but a bit of a reduction in wind speed so
despite adding more sail we did not seem to go any faster! However
life is much more comfortable with only the occasional serious roll which
of course only happens when someone is balancing a plate or pouring
tea!
The crew are becoming increasingly difficult
to shake from their bunks when it is their watch which either means they have
mastered sleeping at sea or are just 'dog tired'! Alternatively they are
regressing to teenage years.
Christmas decorations are up in the saloon and
Maitland keeps scanning the horizon for signs of Santa's speedboat. All we see
our the occasional bird, mammal and squadrons of flying fish.
While no doubt we will all miss our 'normal'
Christmas routines the compensations are many; eating dinner in tee-shirts being
one of them!
The main topic for debate at the present is the
likelihood of us being in Bequia time for "The Bells" on Hogmanay! If we can
improve speed just a little bit over the next 7 days and then pull out the joker
of the clock change it might just happen! However even if not on time we are
suitably equipped to celebrate with adult beverages whenever we do
anchor!
Merry Christmas from the
Moonbeamers
