Because we had to break the sail in Ilse’s de Saintes instead of the booked flight from St Maarten to Miami and one overnight before joining Claire onboard the P&O Cruise-ship MV Adonia, it was a little more complicated…. A ferry from Basse Terre to Trois Islet, taxi to Point a Pitre, flight to St Maarten, overnight in the ‘Crewhouse’, a flight to Miami via Dominican Republic and two nights in the Pullman Hotel, Miami Airport.
So goodbye Chris and hello Airports
yes I was this early…and once I was settled in the I could relax and enjoy the facilities of the Pullman, I did a couple of sightseeing tours and then
Sunday 22nd January dawned and I get to Miami Port and join the P&O cruise-ship MV Adonia, not sure what to expect I nervously looked at some of the many huge 3,000+ people cruise-ships lining the docks all heading to the Caribbean, I was delighted when Esta and Gustavo Torro met me at the dock and we went to meet up with Claire and settle into our home for 7 days, onboard MV Adonia. MV Adonia, a P&O ship had been chartered for a full year by Fathom Travel offering people2people cultural visits to Cuba and Dominican Republic https://www.fathom.org/cruise-to-cuba a beautifully appointed ship with lovely touches of understated luxury. At 14.00hrs we depart Miami for Cuba.
