37:33.215N 000:57.487W 1537UTC June 1st… The trip to Baleares — non stop trip — involves the overnight passage. Consequently, it does not matter too much what time you depart, as long as the conditions are good. Or, more correctly — as long as you think that the conditions would be good… Who knows ? A few minutes ago, the winds starting to following the predicting pattern — SSW, @ about 7-10 knots… I picked up the anchor, said good bye to my friends, and left Cartagena… My plans — to use those winds, even if they are the short lives, to get around the Gabo de Palos — most Esterly point of Spain mainland around — and to start ’to ‘climb the map’ towards Baleares… Following the coast at the moment… Magnificent nature, mountains, rocks… From time to time — the eye picked up the ruins of the ancient fortifications… They blended into the mountain rocks so carefully…. But most of the time you can pick them up by the modern radar station installations… I guess, that proves that the old guys know engineering and strategy as well as we do… Technology changed a bit… But the principles are the same… ;-) Anyway, we are moving… Everything is OK, in good order.
