June 23rd, UTC 1213 Hard to believe that the summer is in full gear… We are still within the Horta harbour, basically at the same place. I’ve been pretty sure that I’ve done a considerably easy passage. However, during the last 2 days – somehow – my body started to talk to me… asking for some rest and relaxation… And though I’m doing my best – it asking more and more… I’m wondering, where it is all going… What are the plans ? My next strategic point – island St. Miguel… The starting point to make the next leg… According to the weather files – the next proper wind window for that would be the middle of the next week… If St. Miguel – is a well defined next step… The destination after, on the ‘big land coast’ – is not defined yet. The original plan – Tarifa, Gibraltar, Malaga – is under the serious review at the moment. The reason – a lot of people, who made that crossing – suggesting and advising not to skip the Atlantic coast, both of Spain and Portugal… Suggesting that there is no rush to enter the Med right away… A lot of suggestions where to go and what to see, etc, etc…. In short – right now I’m spending more time in Internet café, searching the Net, and investigating the options… I’m feeling being a bit under the pressure to make my mind… It is obviously nice pressure to be under… But at the same time – I’m starting to hate pressure of any kind, and especially, if it is transferred in any kind of ultimatums... Meantime – another day in paradise. Pleasant – not hot, but very comfortably warm weather, real, I mean REAL espresso for the price of 0.70 Euro… , fantastic food of all kind, interesting place, interesting people around… Extended daylight… It is still the longest days… The day light till nearly 10 o’clock at evening… Being in Caribbean for nearly 2 years – I’ve forgotten how does it feel… Some people, who spent in Caribbean multiple years, are claiming they know well what the cruising among the islands is about… I can say now – ‘No, you do not! ‘ … Unless you spend time on Azores… It is probably different from cruising the Med - ( that it still on the list to explore ) - due to remoteness from the ‘mainland’… My blog has gotten a bit shorter and less updated during the last days… It may be considered as less eventful days and time… Not true actually… It is just a bit of technicalities – Internet access is limited to hot spot on land, meeting a friends on their boats… preparation for the next leg, which going through monotonically, a step every day… That is all for now. The bottom line – we, the boat and myself – are fine, and looking forward for the next adventures. M.
