Still In FLD

The Travels of Running Tide

We are getting used to FLD now but don’t ever think that you can walk
anywhere. Just around the corner is usually at least three blocks and when
someone says that its only 10 minutes away, that is by car.
We have looked at options for getting to Washington and have now ruled out
sailing, we need sail repairs which won’t be ready till the end of the week and
that’s when the weather turns against us so that doesn’t allow enough time until
Norm US visa runs out on the 4 June. Flying is an option but that’s a bit
boring, so Norm and I are going to hit the road. We have ruled out the Harley D
in favour of something more conventional from Enterprise. We reckon that we will
be heading off on Thursday. Tomorrow we are going to move RT to a swinging
mooring, a bit cheaper and I’m going diving on Wednesday.
Today we were visited by Jean and Ron, my sister and brother in law who are
holidaying a few hours away. They helped out taking us to the sail makers and to
get some new ropes for the head sail which were previously a disgrace.
To night we will recce the swinging mooring site to check there are some
free. Temperatures today hit mid 30s, a bit hot.
