Yesterday the breeze remained fresh from the SE and having settled comfortably at anchor the prospect of beating to windward for the day to a different anchorage did not appeal. Instead we decided to remain where we were. We subsequently enjoyed a relaxing day with a couple of dips over the side and a short excursion ashore in the late afternoon for an ice cream and a beer at the pub, returning on board for dinner and the on going saga of "The Lord of the Rings", having watched "The Hobbit" trilogy over the previous few evenings (a very tall stretch from the original short children's story).

This morning, with favourable SE winds forecast for the day but easing tomorrow, we thought it a good time to start heading back to Adelaide. The engine behaved itself, we weighed and motored out of the narrow gap in the reef then set sail for a broad reach up the coast. Now, as we get closer to Outer Harbor, the winds have fallen light and, contrary to the forecast, backed into the NW, to which we have set the code zero, currently close hauled on the port tack.

The plan is to anchor off North Haven beach for the night then tomorrow morning proceed back alongside the Squadron marina.

All is well.
