Light Winds

Noon position: 19 51.9 S 148 14.2
E Overnight the wind stayed more in the E than NE, which meant we remained close hauled for the night, mostly on the port tack, but we also had to do a lengthy board on starboard to get around Cape Bowling Green. Since rounding Cape Bowling Green we have been able to remain on the port tack, though now the wind has fallen light and we are motor-sailing with the mainsail and code zero set and the engine ticking over at 1300 rpm. The BOM is forecasting the wind to pick up a little later this afternoon. Hopefully we will be able to shut down the BRM and continue sailing through the night. All is well. |
