Decks Complete

Alongside RSAYS, Outer Harbor My primary achievement this last week has been finishing off painting the decks and cockpit coaming. In order to repaint the cockpit coaming I had to remove the sheet winches so that I could de-rust the underside of their mounting plates. This morning the last job was to service and re-install the starboard sheet winch, having serviced and re-installed the port sheet winch yesterday. So at last this rather onerous job has been crossed off my to-do list. Now the temperature has climbed to 39 degrees, too hot to work outside, so I am down below working on a presentation I have been asked to give at the Squadron next Friday. I have a lot more to do and only a few days to get my talk in order so back to the typewriter. All is well. |
