St Martin to Bermuda – Day 1

Departed Marigot bay at 08.40 on Sunday 1^st May for the 864M passage to Bermuda. The forecast is for around 10k easterlies and slight seas for the first half of the trip, but we approach Bermuda we expect a southerly gale toward the end of the week.

Had more wind than forecast most of yesterday resulting in pleasant and fast sailing on a beam reach. Wind has slowly headed and gone light in the night, but now up again to 14k and still laying our course with the help of a couple of reefs.

Saw a humpback whale fin flapping and breaching this morning.
