We did manage to leave Marie Galante this morning after an early croissant trip ashore in Abby.
A steady downwind passage of about 25 miles gave time for Chris to bake some artisan ciabatta and to attempt to catch a fish…..the former was pretty successful while the latter resulted in only a lost lure! Meanwhile I had another go with the plankton filter and discovered that I had previously been very retarded as it was no wonder the thing didn’t fill with water as I hadn’t taken the end cap off. There is now hope of resuming ocean research on the return crossings!
We anchored by Basse Terre late afternoon and had good meal ashore, a bit more life here now that the curfew is not until 2200.
