PCR result came through late morning and I then had a lovely sail up to top end of Martinique, my first proper single handed trip in terms of actually hoisting sails rather than just using the engine.
After an initial cock up with me looking at the wrong wind display (my excuse is that I hadn’t been sailing for 2 weeks!), it all went smoothly and we made good speed with winds of 15-20 kts on the beam.
I’m anchored in sight of Mt Pelee which had a mega eruption in 1902 and arrived in time for great clear sunset.
The other cock up for the day is that PcR test and vaccination certificate don’t seem to have uploaded properly from my phone onto the Dominica website for arrival clearance so I have had a polite e mail saying I can’t come in! Will have another go this evening from the laptop as it seems that Martinique is included in data roaming the same as mainland France.
