The view in the other direction. This is where this family slept. He was a coconut crab fisherman. Notice the ropes hanging under the ‘car ports’ either side. This is where they kept their boats lifted out of the water. |
Laurie and Joel had been taken out by the fisherman the previous evening and shown how the locals catch Mahi Mahi. Fast boats, spot one on the surface, chase it until it has jumped three times by which time it is exhausted and floats on the surface, go alongside and harpoon it with a stick with three prongs on.
