Ballast Bay, St Kitts.
We left St Martin on the first bridge opening out of the lagoon at 0900
yesterday having enjoyed lifting our brand new and not at all rusty anchor
chain. Winds were perfect so we had full mainsail up for the first time
this year and whizzed along a slight sea with more speed than we have
mustered for months.
We have decided just to go straight to St Lucia now and so will leave
tomorrow (Monday) morning and expect it to take around 48 hours to get
there. Mike is increasingly uncomfortable/fed up with the hernia and even
if we did stop on various islands on the way down we are limited as to how
much we can see and do anyway so best to cut our losses and head south.
