Wine and food - again!

40:54.791N 008:42.111E Casteldardo Marina 16 – 20 June 2011 Michael had arranged for us to visit a vineyard on Sardinia so we sailed down to Castelsardo.
We were picked up by Paolo Dettori and taken to the family vineyard and winery. Another huge treat and great privilege to have a guided tour, learn about the entirely natural winemaking process that they use and hear the passion as he described their land and what they did. We finished with dinner at their restaurant positioned on top of the winery with spectacular views. The food was fabulous and, of course, complimented the wines perfectly. The wine was matured in concrete vats ........... We had the best table; and they were all pretty good....... Paolo was very hospitable in spite of our terrible (i.e. non-existent) Italian. The weather forecast was discouraging (!) so we delayed our passage to Corsica by two days and got on with some boat jobs. Bashing the eyelets into the canvas spray-dodgers that Carol had made to go along the rails either side of the cockpit to – guess what – give us some protection from sea-spray. and rivet the boom-brake in place. This requires a very special face to do it properly......
