Strange for a runway to have a blog all of its own but this one was a bit amazing. Built completely on columns with only one end in direct contact with the ground.

There was a major road system alongside and through it which meant you could get very close to the 0930 Easyjet from Manchester while looking for the turning to Funchal.

Underneath was quite a sight........,

that got even more intriguing when you see that it makes the perfect all weather storage facility for yachts. Wonder what they pay for that.
