WHALES - LOTS

 A pod of about 8 Pilot whales including some young came across us mid Ocean - what a huge privilege it was to have them with us for an hour or so.

Amazing creatures No less amazing is the worthy crew of carango = shown here in full yachting action. Actually we had  a sail change at 3.00 am this morning when we handed the Mizzen Stay sail and launched the main as the wind was gusting up to the limit for the staysail at 20 knots. This action somewhat calmed the ride but Carango still pushed on at over 8 knots in a big rolling sea beneath a moonlit sky peppered with black and grey squall clouds which made three presence know when we passed beneath them. One is becoming vert aware of and in tune with every weather phenomenon.
