Well Richard departed to schedule after a day or so in Gibraltar. We managed to do some exploring and saw - guess what:

Gibraltar proved to be an interesting place with an adventurous history and many sieges which saw the digging of an amazing net work of tunnel through the solid rock

Gun emplacements inside the rock fought of the Spanish and the French combined forces. Despite the ceding of The Rock of Gibraltar to the British in the 1700’s Spain has attempted several invasions, none successful thus far.
