Day 7 - Nanny Cay - Day 3 Regatta

The regatta has been held in 2 race areas. All the CSA classes just off marina entrance, our area is 2.8nm south of entrance. Today forecast was just 4 knots of wind. Initially there was none. At start time the breeze had mustered up moving
air of 5-6 knots so the race officer got us off in sequence. We had 2 races today in our SOL race area the other fleets in PSY area did not get any racing in. For Bonkers we had a good day and the wind did get up to 8 knots, not for long though, on the reach with asymmetric up. We had most things go right for us today and we got a 2nd and a 3rd. That is the way to end the
regatta doing well. It was not enough to pull us up in the standings and we came 4th in class. We are still working out what to do next as not going to St Croix Regatta as we appear to be the only visiting yacht and we have to-do a fiddle to get into the US without a visa. We have another option to race with some other boats that
have paying guests onboard on an unofficial event. This has been done as they had people to come out and participate in St Bart’s Regatta that has been cancelled. WE may be off to Sint Maarten tomorrow for a few days before racing (unofficial) in St Bart’s
then one back to Antigua. When we know more will keep you informed. |
