Having spent a nice few days in Lakka Bay we decided it was time to crack on and head for Iganamitsa on the mainland. We were forecast winds of around 8-10knts with fairly clear skies with the chance of some isolated showers. Having retrieved the anchor and motored out of the bay we put the sails up. Once out of the bay the sea started to get a bit frisky, despite this we managed to sail with a couple of gybes to our destination. At times we were literally surfing the waves and getting 9knts, really was quite a nice feeling and lovely not hearing the engines!!! Dodged a couple of high speed ferries and anchored in 3m of weed and mud around 1.30pm in Igonomitsa Bay. Igonomitsa on first impressions is one of a busy port but the bay is quite appealing. On passage, bit of a gloomy day. Looks like the Uk!! |
