Dear Blog
We've actually had a trouble free 24 hours and have
logged 174 miles from our last midday position being at 13.47N 53.26W. Only 440
miles to go and we can nearly point St Lucia on this gybe - which is
why we are rather far south. Best of all we have had a squall free night so are
all rested. Just to show what we faced the night before last is a photo of the
radar of the squalls around us yesterday morning - incidentally the Raymarine
radar is great - my only problem being that the wind instrument went awol
in one of the squalls , which made the helmsman's job very hard. The picture
shows squalls about 1 mile away to leeward and 2 miles to windward which is
close enough to affect the wind strength
![]() And last night we were treated to a Boas special -
corn beef hash.- delicious!! Tonight it will be corn beef fritters with sauted
potatoes cooked by me. No spam - either of the edible kind or the computer
sort!
![]() Might just be in Wednesday still - we're rollocking
along at 8+ knots in an E5/6. depends on the windshifts. More probably
