For Freddie's final last day we headed over to Harvey Cay, the shallows to the east side of the island which looked like it may be a good spot for Bonefish 🀞. We anchored just near a very small gap in the island which a dinghy or kayak can get through as long as it isn’t low tide. Soon Freddie was off in the kayak.
After a an hour or so we went to see how he was doing, the shallow water was beautiful, we found him quite easily, he was scouting out the area still and had tried a couple of spots but not seen a lot 😬 so we left him to carry on his mission to find bonefish.

Just before 2 pm Freddie returned - he had a big smile on his face - he had indeed found a school of bonefish and after a couple of bites that got away, he learnt as he went and caught 2 after a decent fight! Apparently it's a different technique to fly fishing in UK for Salmon etc
Bonefish are tough and extremely fast. They can reach speeds of 40 miles per hour, so when you have one trying to get off your line, you need to keep the tension balanced and pay attention.
Anyway he was a happy chappy and we were delighted that he had managed to achieve his goal.
the 2 he caught being released.

Now on to Black point to scout out the airport for Freddies flight to Nassau tomorrow.
