After our mountain ventures in Sangmileq we headed to Depotfjord, where we had anchored on the first leg. In the morning we walked the valley up to the glacier before heading into the next fjord. I had spied a couple of objectives in Kangertiva Kiateq ( they are quite enthusiastic about  "Q" here ) but we decided they maybe a "mountain too far". Ashore went a reccy party looking for more achievable objectives.

In the morning the "youngsters" ( we've made Tracey and Karl honorary youngsters ) headed off to a fine looking summit and ridge which they successfully climbed at 800m. Meanwhile John and I climbed another rather fine looking peak. The route was lots of gneiss slabs to a summit at 620m. The descent across the face was less fun however as they often are but at it was a traverse. The picture shows our fine mountain.

Getting back to the Umiak we sailed through the evening to our favourite anchorage at Tuglitik or "Gino's Fjord" as we call it. As I'm sure we've mentioned before it was here that Gino Watkins drowned. He was only 25, impressive cv though, read it.

Yesterday it was raining so it was fishing ( 10 arctic char ), baking, water filling  and reading. The fjord is full of ice bergs so a bit of ice pushing too. Now we are planning the next few days of mountains.
