We set sail yesterday form Ardfern in mixed conditions.  With a head wind gusting high twenties and rain we opted to anchor in Loch Breachacha on Coll for the night to wait for the wind to back to the SW. We are now on our way with hopefully a favourable forecast. We'll see.

This is the fourth in the "Umiak goes to the Arctic" trilogy (yes I do know trilogy means three but!). The plan is go into the large fjord to the west of Tasilaq called Sermillik and see what we can find to climb. On board for this phase are Al and Ian who have both been on the previous voyages and Nigel Dean. Nigel was a diesel mech with BAS at Rothera and Halley and now runs a yacht management company in Turkey. It's rather nice having someone board that can fix things without staring at the manuals.
