Whilst Ian and Dave were looking after Umiak Al, Nigel and I went off looking for an ascent. We selectedted the ridge next to the bay and after being dropped by Dave scrambled our way up on gneiss or granite ( not sure which is which ) to the summit. Think watered down Dubhs Ridge. We were delighted that there was no summit on the cairn, so maybe a first. We hoped to make it a traverse and the decent looked viable, although it is never quite clear. A few snow patches and 40m abseil got us down into the valley that Ian and Dave had earlier walked on. It was probably PD- but we did get to use our axes and ropes, but sadly not my MOAC!

The following day Thursday was raining so it was catch up on jobs. Nigel and Dave went ashore and repaired the door on the hut.

This morning we headed south again to see what else we can get up!
