The sail from Guadeloupe to Antigua was a pleasant 7 hour close reach perfectly timed to check in & reach Gordon & Carol's waterside winter home at high water - a necessity as we only had an inch or two clearance over the soft mud. It was lovely to be met, & have our lines taken by such close friends. Fours days later we flew home & quickly realised that it's no picnic in Britain in March. However it was lovely to see the family & return to Hamble for 24 hours - a big thank you to everyone who turned out to see us. All too soon we were on the aircraft back to Antigua with Phyllis, Peter's 92 year old Mum, who was desperate for relief from the cold.

The plan was/is/will be to circumnavigate Antigua clockwise before Mum flies home. As there's little or no internet I'll add to this as we go - Deep Bay (can't think why as it's quite shallow), Great Bird Island (a beautiful anchorage behind the reefs surrounding North Sound), out to the open sea through Bird Islet Channel (charted min depth 1.5m but we never saw less than 5m) & back in behind the reefs through the Spithead Channel to the anchorages off Green Island. The latter channel was difficult to locate from offshore & had the skipper's pulse a little raised.
