OOJAH's AWESOME ODYSSEY
Peter & Christene Tanner
Tue 4 Dec 2012 14:57
Another uneventful day barrelling along with
20-25kt ESE tailwind with the odd squall thrown in. I'm not sure if the lack of
a main is making Oojah roll more but it's very uncomfortable, allbeit we're
managing 150-160 nm a day. We moved the clocks an hour back
yesterday lunchtime which gave us an hour extra, & provided the
opportunity for an unplanned round of beer (conditions have not really
encouraged a happy hour, or as Griff puts it a less miserable hour). More
excitement followed when a flying fish hit the boom & dropped into the
wheel well where it is now stuck - a second one frighened Karen to death when it
hit her on the back whille helming. We think we're only a couple of
days from lighter wind now which will provide a bit of a break, with the greater
challenge of keeping moving. Carl is repairing the fishing rod in anticipation.
love to all
