OOJAH's AWESOME ODYSSEY

We arrived yesterday afternoon and a wonderful Englishman took our lines. Thank goodness as typically the French pontoon fingers are so short that I would probably have fallen in had I jumped ashore! The boat overhangs by 2/3 of its length.
The next arrival came crashing into us and took our life buoy and metal bracket with it! Peter was less than impressed. He was hugely apologetic and offered to replace it all. We all ended up in the local bar together - no hard feelings.
This sailing business is just like work. You complete a sector - some bumpier than others - have drinks with a load of strangers, get to know each others life stories then move on to the next trip and never see them again!
Well - we are still speaking. Or I should say that I am listening! He is happy fiddling with the sails and I am loving my Kindle. It would be nice if the sun shone, but may need to get further south for that. My Dad is still the same and our next escape route if necessary is La Rochelle.
Lots of love and hugs to you all
Xx
